One down, two to go...

Its that time again.  You look down at you syllabus blythfully thinking life is grand, school is easy, and all of the sudden you realize, its midterm time.  Cramming ensues, you lie awake a night repeating lists of criteria, people, and dates in your head, you write essays on the foundations of healthcare systems in the shower, and you eat meals of eggs and frozen waffles because you don't have time to go to the grocery store.  And then, when you think you really just can't do it anymore, you break out your favorite movie, pop it in the VCR and procrastinate.

Every semester I do this, procrastinate, cram, and stress myself out.  And every year I think this is it, last time, never again will I put off studying until the last minute.  And yet, it is a time honored tradition, complete with rituals and symbols:  the kercheif in my hair because I don't have time to wash it, Simply Irresistible on continuous play because I can actually study through it, cans of Slim Jims and bags of baked lays littering the table.  I can't imagine my life without these traditions.  Perhaps that is why I stay in school, because it is what I know, what I understand.

Well, I still have two more midterms, so I bid you adieu, and wish you luck!!!  If you, yourself, are going through this seasonal period of stress, remember there is some comfort in old traditions.

Your Values Profile
Loyalty:

You value loyalty a fair amount.
You're loyal to your friends... to a point.
But if they cross you, you will reconsider your loyalties.
Staying true to others is important to you, but you also stay true to yourself.

Honesty:

You value honesty a fair amount.
You're honest when you can be, but you aren't a stickler for it.
If a little white lie will make a situation more comfortable, you'll go for it.
In the end, you mostly care about "situational integrity."

Generosity:

You value generosity highly.
So much so that you often put your own needs last.
There's nothing wrong with having a caring heart...
But you may want to rethink your "open wallet" policy.

Humility:

You value humility highly.
You have the self-confidence to be happy with who you are.
And you don't need to seek praise to make yourself feel better.
You're very modest, and you're keep the drama factor low.

Tolerance:

You value tolerance highly.
Not only do you enjoy the company of those very different from you...
You do all that you can to seek it out interesting and unique friends.
You think there are many truths in life, and you're open to many of them.

What a week!!!

Have you ever had a really bad week???  Well, I did, last week.  I mean it should go down in the history books.

So, this guy named Justin (no not Snook) used to have my cell phone number.  And apparently he was a very broke, very desperate gay male.  Cause, you see, I keep getting all of these phone calls from collections agencies asking to speak with Justin, not to mention begging me to tell them where to find him.  I have officially taken my name off of about 20 separate phone lists!!!!  Furthermore, Justin wanted a date, desperately!!!  He signed himself up for Match.com mobile.  A cell phone, internet combo dating serive.  So I keep getting these messages from guys (like Tony) asking if I wanna "hook-up".  Which would just be funny, but I get charged 4.99 for every one of these messages.  Well, I finally got the charges removed and the account closed, and then something else happened.  I came home and checked on the ipod I orderd. It had taken awhile to get here and that seemed strange.  Turns out FedEX thought they had the wrong address because there was no apartment number listed (we don't have numbers on our address).  So, they never delivered it.  When I went to pick it up, they couln't find it anywhere and it hadn't been seen in about two days.  They think its been stolen and have started an official investigation.  Thats what I get for trying to catch up with technology.  Remind me not to order my laptop. I'll just go to best buy and walk out with one.  No shipping required.  So on Friday, when I check my email, I find out that UALR (a place I have never been enrolled) thinks I have an outstanding balance and they can't post my deposit for law school!!!  Well, I am getting that taken care of, but geez!!!   I wanted to curl up in a hole and not come out for a month.

On a better note, I had a date on Saturday.  This guy who worked at teh Cold-Blooded Creatures day with the museum asked me out.  We went to Outback and the Comedy Club.  And, it was definitely a good end to a very bad week!!!
